But I *also* love plants. This is a devastating conflict on par with the Capulets and the Montagues. The Sharks and the Jets. The Jets and the Giants. So what's a cat- and plant-obsessed gal to Monta-do? Here's what:
- Give up on having any gorgeous potted fiddle-leaf figs, ficuses (ficii?), or giant palms at ground level. - Invest in probably too many Boskke ["Sky Planters"]( to hang all your plants from the ceiling. Supplement with [IKEA hanging planters]( when you realize you have used the entirety of your Roth IRA on planters.* - Buy one pot of pothos, separate the roots, and boom: you just got 10 plants out of one. Throw those bad boys in some dirt and hang 'em up. - Enjoy feeling like you live in a lush jungle. Revel in superiority as your cats are slowly driven mad by all the ceiling plants they will never reach. ð But was that enough for me? No. I then made a bunch of wall planters out of boards, glass jars, and, weirdly, those little metal hose clamps you see on the backs of dryers. (I also have a single [Wally Pocket]( but you have to be careful while watering these guys because they will absolutely gush water if you do it wrong.) And that, friends, is how one admittedly maybe overzealous plant lover satisfies her zest for indoor greenery AND keeps her army of cats safe. Why am I talking in the third person,
