Buzzfeed. VICE. Zombie apocalypse! [Altucher Confidential] May 02, 2023 [WEBSITE]( | [UNSUBSCRIBE]( James has made millions from his “zombie-proof” strategy, and is ready to help his followers profit from the coming apocalypse. [Hero_Image] Night of the Living Clicksnatchers By James Altucher Urgent Income Demo Jim Rickards calls him The Banker. He’s a financial anomaly. He doesn’t target 1,000%... 3,000%... or 5,000% gains. Instead, this former hedge fund manager is all about steady – and fast – income. And he’s among the absolute best in the world at that. That’s why YOU should [click here now to learn his strategy](. [Chris Campbell] CHRIS CAMPBELL Dear Reader, Let’s play a game. Two of the following Vice headlines are real. One of them I made up. Can you guess which is the fake one? 1.] Why the Best Place to Do Mushrooms Is Your Local Ikea 2.] This Is What Happened When We Tried the 'Period Challenge' on TikTok 3.] My Gay Prison Gang Fights Neo-Nazis Now let’s do Buzzfeed. Same game. Choose the fake one. 1.] 13 Potatoes That Look Like Channing Tatum 2.] A Serious Investigation Into SpongeBob's Sexual Practices 3.] Which Pizza Topping Are You Based on Your Favorite Disney Princess? By the way, I asked ChatGPT this same question and it got both wrong. (ChatGPT’s guesses, and the actual answers, are in the P.S. below.) Now, imagine my shock at the recent news… Night of the Living Clicksnatchers In a dramatic turn of events, Buzzfeed is shutting down and Vice is headed for bankruptcy. Who could’ve seen this coming? These two media giants, once lauded as the future of the fourth estate, have crumbled under the weight of their financial burdens. Both publications long employed the same decadent, clickbaity mode of reporting… And here’s the story that isn’t being told… The decline of these “clicksnatching” media outlets can be traced to their dependence on a low-interest rate environment. And they’re not alone… Vice and Buzzfeed are just one of many zombie companies that were artificially held afloat by easy money. And while this might sound like an omen… The smart money is getting ready for some of the fastest gains in market history. Attention Reader! Before You Read Any Further… [Click here for more...]( Hey, it’s James. Before you read any further in today’s issue, an urgent situation needs your immediate attention. If you don’t plan on claiming this upgrade to your Altucher’s Investment Network subscription, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity. Right now is your chance to grab one of the biggest (and most valuable) upgrades our company has ever made to a newsletter. [To see how to claim your upgrade, just click here now.]( Once you’re done with that, read on to see today’s issue… How to Play the Zombie Apocalypse Put simply, zombie companies are firms that can't generate enough profit to cover their interest costs for an extended period. They're essentially just surviving on borrowed time, hoping for a financial miracle. In a universe where zombies thrive on the lifeblood of easy money, the past decade provided the perfect breeding ground for their existence. Loose monetary policies clothed the zombies in suits and dresses, keeping them hidden from plain sight. Of course, not everyone agrees that this was the case. In 2021, the Federal Reserve defended itself by scribbling a [note]( claiming zombie companies didn't actually benefit from these extraordinarily favorable rates during the pandemic. And yet… Now that interest rates are going up, the zombies are revealing themselves. (Coincidence?) So what exactly does this mean for us? James has made millions from a “zombie-proof” strategy, and is ready to help his followers profit. So, while Vice and Buzzfeed might be just two undead canaries in the coal mine, there's no need to panic. With the right strategy, you can come out on top. More on that tomorrow. Stay tuned. [Chris Campbell] Chris Campbell For Altucher Confidential P.S. Here are the headlines that were fake. For Vice magazine, ChatGPT chose number three: "My Gay Prison Gang Fights Neo-Nazis." “While Vice has covered stories related to prison gangs and neo-Nazis,” it said, “this headline seems a bit too sensational and unlikely to be true.” ChatGPT got it wrong. In 2018, Vice ran an article written by a convicted pedophile who spent his days in a prison gang called the “Rainbow Warriors.” The fake headline? Number one: Why the Best Place to Do Mushrooms Is Your Local Ikea As for Buzzfeed… ChatGPT chose number one: "13 Potatoes That Look Like Channing Tatum." “While Buzzfeed is known for its quirky and offbeat content,” it said, “this headline seems a bit too absurd and unlikely to be genuine.” Again, ChatGPT got it wrong. That was an actual article that an actual person spent actual time writing. The fake headline was this: Which Pizza Topping Are You Based on Your Favorite Disney Princess? --------------------------------------------------------------- Urgent Notice From Paradigm CIO Zach Scheidt!
