EU’s top brass finally realizes it’s been taken for a ride. [The Rude Awakening] November 28, 2022 [WEBSITE]( | [UNSUBSCRIBE]( The EU Awakens and the Coming Betrayal of Ukraine - Rising energy costs have crushed European manufacturing. - Now, those companies are leaving Europe… for America! - Expect the West to split over the next year, with most of Europe seeking reconciliation with Russia. [BOMBSHELL: Ex-CIA Advisor Releases New Biden Evidence]( [This crazy new Biden story]( is 1,000 times worse than the media will let on. If you think Biden is a life-long corrupt politician who will do anything for money and power, you’re right. And now, former advisor to CIA and Pentagon Jim Rickards has just uncovered [this new Congressional evidence that will send shockwaves through Washington](. [Click Here To Learn More]( [Sean Ring] SEAN RING Dear Reader, Good morning from frosty Piedmont! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with your loved ones. We caught up on a lot of sleep. And, of course, ate and drank merrily in between snoozes. I also watched a load of football highlights. That’s one of the benefits of YouTube these days. Sorry for you Ohio State fans out there. Michigan looked dominant in the Big Horseshoe. It’s funny how I take global technological advances for granted. I’m not sure they’ll be around much longer. Why not? Because I must admit, I never thought I’d be banned from traveling to Russia. And we are right now banned from going there. I want to see Saint Petersburg. I’ve also been to Moscow quite a few times and wouldn’t mind returning. By the way, if you want to make the greatest martini ever, [read this old](. Long story short: if they can stop travel, they can install internet firewalls. And if they put up internet firewalls, then no more US sports for me. And why would internet firewalls get put up? Well, it’s a long way off from that outcome. But Europe is finally realizing how screwed it’s getting out of this Russia sanctions deal. Before I begin, let’s state one inviolate premise: [civilization depends on cheap energy.]( Off we go… How’s the Weather Over Here? First, a quick joke: Why did God create economists? To make weathermen look good. That joke works because neither occupation is worth the paycheck. Neither an economist nor a weatherman can predict anything correctly. With that said, I read something quite interesting over the weekend: [SJN] Credit: [Severe Weather Europe]( Usually, I don’t pay much attention to headlines like this. But there was some “science” to back up the assertion. Contrary to most reporting, we’ve got shedloads of snow for this time of year. Snow cover isn’t just above the average. It's currently at a 56-year high: [SJN] Credit: [Severe Weather Europe]( This is what 41 million square kilometers of snow cover look like: [SJN] Credit: [Severe Weather Europe]( Yes, the entirety of Russia and Canada are already covered. If you’re in the States, you’ve probably been getting plenty of “Alberta Clipper” warnings. The Finnish Meteorological Institute corroborates Rutgers’ report in that we’re tracking well above average: [SJN] Credit: [Severe Weather Europe]( I hasten to add that this information, if it turns out to be correct, doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a colder winter here in Europe. But it’s a valuable piece of the climate puzzle. However, it’d be prudent to assume that this winter will be cold and that we’ll need plenty of heating. That means gas prices will go up even higher. But that’s not all… [Over 62 And Collect Social Security? Take Action Immediately!]( [If you’re over the age of 62 and currently collect Social Security, you need to prepare now](. Because Biden has given our country the worst inflation in decades – and many warn things will only get worse from here. Worse yet, the Social Security check you receive now may not keep pace with inflation… [Which is why, if you don’t act now, you could fall behind in the months ahead](. Is your retirement at immediate risk? [Click here now to get the simple, step-by-step actions to survive inflation](. [Click Here To Learn More]( Accusations of War Profiteering I’m just a guy writing stuff from an apartment in Asti. But if I could see this coming a mile away, why didn’t Europe’s “elite” see it, too? There have been some points we’ve been clear about since Day 1 of this disaster: - [Sanctions strengthen Russia.]( - [Sanctions would weaken Europe.]( - [Sanctions would also hurt Americans, but not as much as Europeans.]( - [Europe losing their cheapest source of abundant energy was stupid.]( - [Ukraine wasn’t worth it for either Europe or America.]( So, I find it hilarious that Politico prints a hit piece on US policy toward Europe: [SJN] Credit: [Politico]( I have only one question for Europe’s creme de la creme: WTF did you think was going to happen? Europe’s politicians are the equivalent of Charlie Brown. And the US is Lucy. “Back my stupid policy, and I’ll take care of you,” said Joe Biden. “Ok,” said Europe, only to get fooled once again. Here’s the upshot: - Europe has lost its cheapest source of abundant energy: Russia. - Shipped LNG from America is far more expensive than pipelined gas from Russia. - Europe’s weapons stockpile is diminished from donating to Ukraine. - To rearm, Europe must buy its arms from, you guessed it, America. - The Inflation Reduction Act subsidizes US companies, encouraging European companies to move to the US to get their share of printed money. From [Politico]( The biggest point of tension in recent weeks has been Biden’s green subsidies and taxes that Brussels says unfairly tilt trade away from the EU and threaten to destroy European industries. Despite formal objections from Europe, Washington has so far shown no sign of backing down. So let’s get this straight. The US bullies the EU into this stupid proxy war and then prints its way out of immediate trouble, hurting European industry even more. Here are some choice quotes from the [Politico]( piece: French President Emmanuel Macron said high U.S. gas prices were not “friendly” and Germany’s economy minister has called on Washington to show more “solidarity” and help reduce energy costs. "The Europeans are discernibly frustrated about the lack of prior information and consultation," said David Kleimann of the Bruegel think tank. "The U.S. is following a domestic agenda, which is regrettably protectionist and discriminates against U.S. allies," said Tonino Picula, the European Parliament's lead person on the transatlantic relationship. "The United States sells us its gas with a multiplier effect of four when it crosses the Atlantic," European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton said on French TV on Wednesday. "Of course, the Americans are our allies ... but when something goes wrong it is necessary also between allies to say it." I’ve got no use for EU politicians. All seem to have PhDs and no real-world experience, much like the members of the FOMC. Thinking America would “consult” with Europe before making any decisions is laughable. The Coming Betrayal of Ukraine And what will all this lead to? I think it’ll be a staggering betrayal of Ukraine. Sooner or later, European politicians will realize that their constituents vote for them, not Ukrainians. They’ll buckle under the pressure of exorbitant energy prices, collapsing industry, and a lack of defense. Then the EU will ask Russia for a deal. That deal will include abandoning Ukraine. America will go into full-blown panic mode, but it’ll be too late by then. The western alliance, the cornerstone of global security since 1945, will be no more. Think it can’t happen? I don’t blame you. But I’m starting to think of it as a probability rather than a possibility. Wrap Up By 2025, the world may look vastly different than it does right now. However unlikely a fracture of the western alliance is now, the likelihood that it does crack increases daily, and with every dollar energy prices rise in Europe. Right-wing governments are coming to power in Europe, threatening the status quo. Washington needs to take its number one trading partner more seriously if it wants the relationship to continue. Until tomorrow. All the best, [Sean Ring] Sean Ring Editor, Rude Awakening [Paradigm]( ☰ ⊗ [ARCHIVE]( [ABOUT]( [Contact Us]( © 2022 Paradigm Press, LLC. 808 Saint Paul Street, Baltimore MD 21202.
