[Palisades Tahoe] [Palisades Tahoe] [Fireworks over The Village at Palisades Tahoe] [Fireworks over The Village at Palisades Tahoe] Legendary Spirit Cheers to a fantastic year. Your enthusiasm and love contribute to the vibrant spirit of these legendary mountains. We look forward to creating more cherished memories together in the coming year. [Year in Review]( Highlights from 2023: [Connery Lundin doing a backflip off of the Palisades] January 100% Terrain Unlocked The year started with a record-breaking storm with snowfall reaching a rate of 7 inches/hour. On January 15, the brand-new, high-speed 6-pack Red Dog chairlift opened bringing the ride time down to only 5 minutes. With more than 14 feet of snow this month, we were also able to open Silverado and unlock 100% of terrain across both mountains. [#JanuBuried]( [US Ski Team members watching the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup] FEBRUARY The Show Must Go On Athletes from around the world had already arrived for the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup when the largest storm of the year rolled into the region. Battling 146 inches of new snow, our crews put in the superhuman effort necessary to clear the course. Race Officials approved and we proceeded to host competition for Giant Slalom and Slalom events on Red Dog. Every department, on- and off-mountain, was impacted by the enormous snowfall. Parking lots, staircases, patrol shacks, and chairlifts were completely buried. Based on this, we officially announced we would stay open through the 4th of July. [Snow Recap]( [Skier at Snow Golf at Alpine] April Making History, Continuing Traditions When we hit 710 inches of snow on April 18, this officially marked our snowiest season to date. As spring emerged, we welcomed the Tahoe blue skies, California sunshine, and sunny apres. This combined with beloved events like WinterWonderGrass at Palisades and Snow Golf at Alpine. [Breaking Records]( [Skier competing in the Cushing Crossing] May Carrying On the Fun This year was the 31st Annual Cushing Crossing, the original pond skim. Participants attempted to ski or snowboard across a pond of freezing water creating a lively and entertaining experience for spectators. [The Cushing Crossing](/ZDRsRFdIQkx1aEovTmh3cXFmalZrczdyTVRaSW1xQ2t6dkxlUzQ3S1RvejY1b3hrS1FnZFk3K1lMalNIY0JCOTlOMHRsSWRoalJaTm9zSTgrcVRsNnkvV2dxeVNDUnZXRE5yL2xSallqSGs9S0/) [Skiing and riding on the 4th of July] June - July Skiing into Summer Thanks to our huge snowfall totals, we were able to keep the party going through the 4th of July! Not only were we skiing and riding, but we brought down the house with live music for Freedom Fest the first four days of July. It was the perfect send-off to a winter that we will never forget! [Freedom Fest]( [Washoe Cultural Talks held at High Camp] August - September Past, Present, Future Days on the slopes gave way to days by the lake. The valleys were alive with rushing waterfalls, bright wildflowers, and a cool breeze over the ridge. In partnership with the Washoe Tribe, we hosted a cultural showcase at High Camp every Friday this summer. Over 250 attendees had a chance to hear stories from Washoe Tribe members about their ancestral homeland.
