Updates from the ExpressionEngine community from February and January 2022 No images? [Click here]( [ExpressionEngine]( January - February Wrap Up It’s been great to see the ExpressionEngine community continue to grow over the last couple of years. However, we know only a percentage of ExpressionEngine users are active in Slack and the forums. So we thought that we would start posting regular updates of all that’s happening in the ExpressionEngine world. We’ll post these updates every other month starting today with what’s happened in January and February of 2022. Core Let’s start with ExpressionEngine Core. - 6.2.0 - The ExpressionEngine team [released version 6.2.0]( which included updated Security Options, PHP 8.1 support, and a ton of bug fixes. - Patch Releases - Since the release of 6.2.0, we’ve also released a handful of patch releases with the current version being [6.2.7](. All in all, 6.2.0 and the following patch releases turned out to be much bigger than we had planned. While that means things took us a little longer, it also means we were able to address a lot of items the community as requested. Check out the changelog for all the latest: [( Pro Have you tried [ExpressionEngine Pro]( yet? If not, you’re missing out. An ExpressionEngine Pro trial is now included with ExpressionEngine when downloaded from ExpressionEngine.com or when updated through the 1-click updater. In keeping with our commitment to continually improve and add value to Pro we have released Pro 1.1.0 and Pro 1.2.0 since the New Year. - 1.1.0 - Alongside the security updates launched in ExpressionEngine 6.2.0, Pro 1.1.0 adds [Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)](. Multi-factor authentication adds an extra level of protection to the Control Panel by relying on a one-time password generated by Multi-factor authentication applications like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. - 1.2.0 - Just over a week ago, we released Pro 1.2.0 which brings [Entry Cloning]( to ExpressionEngine! That’s right, navigate to any of your entries and clone to your heart’s desire. It just works! These updates are just the beginning of what ExpressionEngine Pro is bringing to ExpressionEngine. More features are already in the works to be released in the next month or two. According to the repo’s wiki, “The Controllers library allows ExpressionEngine developers to compartmentalize their Actions, Template Tags, Extensions, and Control Panel methods, into stand-alone objects instead of containing everything within a single file in a single class.” Community Community Core Contributors A lot of work has gone into ExpressionEngine since the release of version 6.0. However, we wouldn’t be near as far as we are without the help of the community. We always want to acknowledge contributions, especially when they are made to the core. Here’s a list of core contributors from the last few releases: EE:U Contributors There are many ways to contribute to ExpressionEngine.
