The British government said that Aslin and Pinner were long-serving members of the Ukrainian military and â under the terms of the Geneva Conventions â should be treated as prisoners of war. Robert Jenrick, the Aslin familyâs representative in Parliament, said theyâre being treated differently from Ukrainian POWs and âused as hostages to make a point.â The men will appeal their sentences. The match took researchers by surprise as Fernanda lacks the flared saddleback of Beckâs specimen. âEverything that we knew about this species said it was extinct,â said Princeton Universityâs Stephen Gaughran, a lead author of the [study announcing the finding](. âItâs a big deal.â Tortoise footprints spotted on Fernandina have experts hoping there may be more out there. Realizing sheâd stumbled upon a movie set, Blackwell resumed her search, asking everyone whether theyâd seen Blue. One man said he had â and that âa celebrityâ had picked the dog up.
