In the first couple of weeks of January, we racked up 31 straight winners... SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES [The Oxford Club Special Opportunities]( This Trader Is Racking Up Winner After Winner Matt Benjamin, Senior Macroeconomic Analyst, The Oxford Club [Karim Rahemtulla] Monument Traders Alliance Head Fundamental Tactician Karim Rahemtulla has been in the financial newsletter business for a long time. And people who know investing and trading recognize him as one of the most trusted voices in the business. Karim is an expert on domestic stocks, emerging market stocks, options trading and short-term trading. He's also the author of the bestselling book Where in the World Should I Invest? Karim left The Oxford Club in 2019 to co-found [The War Room]( with trader and Head Trade Tactician Bryan Bottarelli. There, they guide a group of traders through all kinds of markets - up and down - and with plenty of profitable trade recommendations. Karim and Bryan also publish a free e-letter, Trade of the Day, which [you can subscribe to here](. Karim lives in Florida with his wife and three children. Karim, you've been one of the best-known voices in the financial newsletter business for years. How did you first get into this line of work? I used to play basketball with Mark Skousen, the well-known newsletter editor. He introduced me to Bill Bonner, founder of The Oxford Club and Investment U, some 29 years ago. Bill hired me as the research director for the entire company... which was much smaller back then. That's pretty straightforward. And you were with The Oxford Club for quite a while. Can you tell us a bit about your history there? I moved on from my Research Director position to become the Investment Director of The Oxford Club as it began its growth as a preeminent financial publication. It was an opportunity I could not resist and marked the beginning of my long friendship and collaboration with Julia Guth, CEO and Executive Publisher of The Oxford Club, who is now the leader of one of the largest newsletter organizations in the world. So you then left The Oxford Club to co-found [The War Room]( with Bryan Bottarelli. What was the idea behind this very novel project? It was the logical next step in the evolution of our business. We deliver ideas to our members with all of our publications. But with The War Room, we had the opportunity to deliver that information and research in real time, all day and every day, and to create a community of traders to share ideas. It's been spectacularly successful, and we think it is the model for future investment publishing. From what I've seen, your trading strategy and Bryan's are quite different. Yet they kind of complement each other. How does that work? Bryan is a master short-term trader who uses technical analysis to get in and out of trades in a short period of time... sometimes in a matter of minutes. My focus is on longer-term opportunities that use fundamental analysis. And I saw that you and Bryan have been on a very hot streak this year! Can you tell us about that? Well, we're actually ahead of the success we enjoyed in 2020 where we averaged a win rate of almost 80%. In the first couple of weeks of January, we racked up 31 straight winners and currently hold a 94% win rate for the year. Wow, that's incredible! Congratulations to you and Bryan. One more question. I understand you're a car aficionado with an affinity for Porsches. Do you collect them? What's your favorite? Yes. Bryan and I work hard, and we play hard. My away-from-work energy is devoted to improving my driving skills, sometimes on the racetrack with Porsches. My favorite is actually an old Porsche 356... one of the earliest models, which will turn 60 in a couple of years. It's not the fastest, but it's the most fun. There's a saying about cars like that one: "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow!" That's very cool. And thanks again, Karim, for taking the time to answer a few questions. I'm sure our readers would love to follow your free e-letter, Trade of the Day, which they can [sign up for by clicking here](. And for those readers interested in receiving Bryan and Karim's weekly trading recommendation, an idea they can act on immediately that will arrive in their inboxes every Wednesday, [should check this out](.
