It’s obviously not something anyone wants to think about. But this time of the year is perhaps the most important time to think about it. Each one of these activities is a high-octane fire starter that can easily end in tragedy. Cooking fires killed 480 people from 2010 to 2014, and caused $1.1 billion in property damage in the U.S. alone.
