Hi, How order flow can be used to identify initiative trading. First let's discuss what initiative trading is. When initiative traders (large institutions, funds) aggressively step in to buy or sell outside of the value area with force, it signals they are trying to drive price directionally away from value. If you are looking at aggressiveness in the market, order flow allows you to easily see that taking place. I created a the initiative traders indicator to look for the initiative trading taking place. However it is not as simple as looking for aggressive trading because aggressive trading takes place all the time. You have to put it in context of the market and value. Now determining value is where it gets tricky, do you take the value for the day? For the bar? For a predetermined period? There are a lot of ways to determine value. Is one right or wrong? It depends on the trader and the type of trading he is doing. [Initiative Traders] If you can't view the above chart, [click here](. What the Initiative Traders indicator does is leverages order flow to contextualize when aggressive, directional institutional trades are entering and tries to trade in sync with that order flow momentum early on. The Initiative Traders indicator is one of three indicators you get when you sign up for the Orderflows Vault. [Enter The Orderflows Vault]( Today we added PayPal as a method of payment as many traders have been having issues with Stripe.
