Hi, One of the tools that order flow traders use is imbalances. However, many traders aren't getting the most out of imbalances because imbalances appear often in bars and even some bars have both buying and selling imbalances which is confusing. Most traders are familiar with stacked imbalances which is 3 or more imbalances stacked neatly on top of each other. This is very visual and very obvious and does offer traders quick directional moves int he market. In the Order Flow Edge Trading Course, I discuss a different way to maximize imbalances. It is called Sustained Imbalances, which can be as little as one imbalance in a bar that has strong meaning in the overall market structure. Sustained Imbalances are the important imbalances that appear in the market that are highly reflective of institutional trading activity present. Remember, not all order flow imbalances are created equal and as a trader you will develop your trading edge by knowing which imbalances matter because they are based on a shift in market sentiment as opposed to just a big order hitting the market. Today, in the ES there was a great example: [ES Sustained Imbalances] If you can't view the above chart, [click here](. While stacked imbalances are nice when they happen, the reality is they don't happen too often and then ones that do appear aren't consistent in the reliability. If you would like to learn more about Sustained Imbalances and how to trade them, check out the Order Flow Edge Trading Course. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
