What exactly does autonomous mean, though? Basically, taking care of the boring stuff: It provisions, tunes, backs up, encrypts, updates, and patches itself without human involvement. For developers, the big payoff has been they can dive right into writing new apps — without calling on a DBA to set up a database. Now there’s something more for developers.
