Daily Pit Stop Who needs Nvidia Corp when there is BWXT Technologies Inc? Stocks are not doing much

Daily Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] February 28, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] Who needs Nvidia Corp when there is BWXT Technologies Inc? Stocks are not doing much this week as early economic data is not moving the needle. When Bitcoin is getting all the headlines, you know it is a slow market day. I remember near falling asleep in my pit on the Cboe floor on slow days. Yes it can get that slow. The chart below is Nvidia Corp (Ticker: NVDA) tipping at 2 Trillion dollar market cap and pretty much owns AI chips. The chart below is BWXT, and is a leader in nuclear energy reactors. Market cap is $8 billion. Frank Gregory targeted nuclear as growth pivot for green energy and he helped me get into 3 stocks, Cameco Corp (Ticker: CCJ), Nuscale Power Corp (Ticker: SMR) and BWXT Technologies (Ticker: BWXT). [fstp]6 month NVDA chart [fstp]6 month BWXT chart With a lot of the Green Energy momentum petering out, especially in EVs, nuclear has unlimited upside as a power source. Check out more Cap Gains with Frank and myself on Thursdays. - AG  [logo, pit profits] Want to find YOUR winning fit? In Q4 ‘07 the Case Schiller home price index reported a $205,700 and 1 year later the index dropped to $180,100 and the housing bubble officially burst. Now, fast forward to March ‘23 when commercial loan debt caused the banks to boost loan reserves as the Fed injected liquidity into the system. Now a year later for the first time, the average loan loss reserves at the largest banks have fallen from $1.6 to $.9 for every dollar of commercial real estate loans on which a borrower is at least 30 days late. [See what this means for banks and GFed policy here.]( - Bill  [fpip] Going Higher & AVP Hi Shoppers, Well, we’ve had a wee bit of a pull back. I am still bullish the S&P 500. We will revisit the high of $5111, at least, by the week’s end. For those of you wondering, Moms’ Weekend was fantastic! We had such a good time!! The wine tasting turned out to be really nice. The boys served bubbly, white and red wines and couldn’t wait to share their knowledge of each. We also popped into the Apple Store where they each had a thirty minute demo of the new goggles or Apple Vision Pro. Of course they were all blown away and wanted one immediately. There was talk of selling a kidney on the black market. The goggles were pretty amazing as you choose the icon you want just by looking at it. Or the letter on the keyboard to type just by looking at it. We had a kid with us who is color blind and it was able to show him a sunset as most of us see it. Pretty amazing. They did all agree the goggles are not good for society as a whole. Time will tell if and how we incorporate them into our lives. [Let’s revisit the Apple (Ticker: AAPL) chart.]( - Licia   [glossary, logo] There are plenty of terms in the trading world that need explaining. The Option Pit Glossary is here to help. Today's phrase is:  Futures - A financial instrument that prices a commodity or index further out in time.
