Dailt Pit Stop Trading Government Reports for fun and profits Yo Pit Crazies, Speaking of fun and ma

Dailt Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] February 14, 2024 Mark is going live with his new trading strategy which last time I looked has not lost yet.  Not bad!  [Sign up here for a little of the ole’ Mark Sebastian magic]( [ag views, logo, header] Trading Government Reports for fun and profits Yo Pit Crazies, Speaking of fun and magic, Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd in the greatest trading movie ever made, Trading Places, is centered around a government report, the Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice (Ticker; FCOJ) report after a big frost. The rest is legend. The Duke and Duke trader that had the inside information from Beeks bought up the FCOJ contracts thinking the crop would come in short causing a huge price spike. The report came out flat so the FCOJ contracts got smoked. Billy Ray and Winthorp shorted the contracts into the report, sold them to Duke and Duke, and bought them back when the market collapsed. Trading mastery at its finest. Sell high and buy low. [fomo]( I did a little Trading Places on my own on Monday. Except my government report was the Consumer Price Index (Ticker: CPI). Conveniently they post the past dates of the report so a trader can get an idea what happened in the prior reports. [fomo]( The problem was I did not have Clarence Beeks to give me the crop report for direction. But I did have something else. [Find out what I had.]( - AG  [logo, pit profits] - Weekly Profit Cycles - Riff Short Term special for 31% gain - Pit Report - closed AAPL Strangle for a 9% gain Want to find YOUR winning fit? In today's video we'll cover: - Stocks that have earnings approaching - Where the SPY is and why I think you should be buying options - Lay out the levels in the RUT and MDY - Explain why VIX is still a little nervous [fvix]( [Click here to watch now!]( - Mark  [fpri] “Sticky” Inflation Crushes Bonds Hey Income Hunters, The Inflation Genie is putting up a hell of a fight and yesterday’s CPI is a major cause of concern for the bond bulls … The bond vigilante’s, who stand ready to sell bonds on any sign of inflation were out in force yesterday doing some real damage on the iShares 25+ Maturity Treasury Bond ETF (Ticker; TLT). The TLT chart illustrates how damaging a break below the 93 level is for long-term bonds:  [fpri] The money flow underneath the market is a sign that inflationary pressures are building. [Click here for more …]( - Bill  [fpip] Love Your Valentine Hi Shoppers, Happy Valentine’s Day! I will be missing my Valentine for the first time in 31 years. (Crazy!) I have also missed him for New Year’s Eve and the Super Bowl for the first time ever. That’s ok. I will be seeing him next week. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Enjoy your day with your special someone. On to the markets … Wow! Was that an actual down day? It was … closing down over $68 on the S&P 500 Index (Ticker: SPX). Intraday, the SPX was down over $100 or 2%. It did have an incredible 33 point rally in the last 35 minutes. Here’s the daily chart: [fpip]( Yesterday’s action has created quite the gap. Zooming in, the SPX actually closed within support: [fpip]( The gap or rising window, as the Japanese call it, created on Feb 7 provides support which nicely coincides with the psychological level of $4950. There is also support at yesterday’s lows: [fpip]( There is an upward trendline going back to Nov 9 which was honored on yesterday’s lows. We close below the gap level and the next support is $4906 and then $4845. The top of the rising window will be our resistance at $4969. Once we close outside of this gap, we will know the direction for the short term. Remember, the close is always more important than the intraday action. Before I show you my new trade idea, don’t forget to join Mark Sebastian on Thursday night at 8:00 ET. [Go here for a new trade idea in TLT.]( - Licia   [glossary, logo] There are plenty of terms in the trading world that need explaining. The Option Pit Glossary is here to help. Today's phrase is:  Bid/ask spread - The difference in the latest quoted bid and ask prices for a particular option contract.
