Daily Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] February 5, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] Investing at the top of SPX The Standard and Poor’s 500 index (Ticker: SPX) is trading near the top of its range and near and all time high. The problem with this is folks do not want to get stuck long at the top. From a trading perspective, the top is just a direction so I can hedge my trade and create what we at Option Pit call delta neutral trading. That means, we don’t want a direction now, but we want one when things get moving. That is the type of trade we put on in the Easy Button, OPMentoring, Trading Desk, Weekly Profit Cycles and just about anything else I teach here. Mark and Licia’s short term service are comfortable long or short directions so just going straight up is not a problem. What I do want to do is to “lean long”. Meaning I am long direction for right now, but won’t be long forever once the market changes direction. These are all techniques any trader can learn. [stp] I would not short this SPX just because it is going up. It can go up for a long time and Option Pit can teach you how to ride it. - AG  [logo, pit profits] - OP MENTORING: VIX Mar20 15/25 call spreads / SPY Mar15/Feb23 500 call calendars for a 14% gain Want to find YOUR winning fit? Most notably, many traders use Fibonacci retracement levels to determine potential support or resistance levels on a chart.
