[ftsp] If VIX gets off the mat and starts to move, the VIX calls might buy a car. - AG  [logo, pit profits] - CAPITOL GAINS: CCJ Jan19 45.5 calls closed for a 146% gain Want to find YOUR winning fit? The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved eleven Bitcoin ETFs. And guess what, it turned out to be the classic case of “buy the rumor, sell the news”. That is when the REAL news came out. There was a false alarm announced on X on Tuesday. (Screen shot please) Here at Option Pit not only our traders but all our employees stay on top of the news every day. Daniel saw it first. He sends out a company wide message on Tuesday at 3:21 pm that the SEC approves all Bitcoin ETFs. And he followed that with the insightful comment, “Big if true.” He then posts what looks like the actual SEC X account with the announcement. Andrew chimes in that SBF’s (Sam Bankman Fried) father and Gary Gensler (SEC Chair) went to MIT together. I won’t tell you what I said after that. What’s going on with him anyway? At 4:16 PM, I posted that the SEC X account was compromised and the original post was not authorized. Then Hannah, Paul and Justin all posted snippets they were finding about the whole scandal. Hannah said, “The plot thickens.” Overall my take away from this is that - once again… News moves the needle and the suckers get squeezed. We sat and laughed because… It was pretty fun and exciting. In real time we didn’t know what was going on. This is the move Bitcoin made on the five minute chart during that time:  [fpip]( It shot up 200 points in five minutes then proceeded to collapse 3200 points in the next fifteen minutes. It tried to recover but slipped back down until Wednesday. I imagine thousands of people worldwide are excited to trade these ETFs. We are excited to trade the options once they are listed. [Here I will show you the Bitcoin chart and where it goes from here.]( - Licia   [glossary, logo] There are plenty of terms in the trading world that need explaining. The Option Pit Glossary is here to help. Today's phrase is: Exchange-traded fund (ETF) - A financial instrument that holds other financial assets like stocks, bonds and gold.
