[] [The daily rundown of everything happening at Option Pit.]( [1).png]( MARK-et Open Hey OP Crew, Griff here with the Chart of the Day. I’m looking at Tesla (Ticker: TSLA) after hitting the 200-week moving average today and holding. The stock is not looking good heading into earnings next week … [ Its earnings estimate is for an earnings per share of $.75 on revenues of $23.36 billion. Last week TSLA announced Q1 deliveries in line with a 2023 forecast of 1.81 million vehicles. TSLA shares are currently priced at a slight discount according to Morningstar, which calculates the fair value price at $225. The big problem for TSLA is that their Model 3 will likely be ineligible for the $7,500 tax credit in the US because the battery is produced in China. I would not buy here, but on a bad earnings plunge it may be worth a shot around $170. Let’s Go! The Option Pit VIX Traffic Light Is Yellow: Volatility is likely to move wildly. The VIX closed unchanged on Monday at 18.97. Given we are coming off a long weekend, this is pretty much a vol dump. VIX futures actually closed down on the day – but only about .05 – as the S&P rallied from down 30 to close up four points on Monday. But does this tell the whole story of the day? With CPI, PPI, and Fed minutes heading our way this week, should the VIX really be 18.97? Is the market destined to grind higher?
