[] [( [( MARK-et Open Hey OP Crew, Griff here with the chart of the day. No doubt, it has to be the US dollar. The Fed hiked .25% today. In the Q&A Powell did his best to reiterate the importance of reducing inflation, which would normally list the dollar index. But not today … [ Stocks may chop into quarter-end since he did point out that credit for households and businesses will weigh on economic activity. Stocks normally lag the message bonds send anyway but be prepared for a big-time April rally. [Power Income booked gains today in energy, plus captured 100% of a 1-day call credit spread that puts $200 bucks in the cash bucket of the Fed Pause Portfolio.]( If 3900 gives way tomorrow we could see a spike down to major support at 3800 into quarter-end. Another day of stacking profits … [If you are not a subscriber of Power Income Trader come and join in on the fun.]( Let's Go! [ [ - POWER INCOME TRADER: SPX Mar22 4080/4090 call vertical closed for a 100% gain - POWER INCOME TRADER: XLE Mar24 76/80/84 call fly closed for a 42% gain Want to find YOUR winning fit? Monday’s rally saw some follow through on Tuesday. The market initially popped before appearing like it wanted to go red … only for the S&P 500 to end the day above 4000! The VIX which had expiration this morning got smoked, falling to 21.38. Now the question is whether VIX can break 20…and if so…how quickly? (It’s heading that way as of this writing.) [Here is what VIX options and futures are telling us and how to trade it…]( - Mark Pit Report: OXY Breakdown The market has been in turmoil over the past week. Banks have gone out of business … and in the near future I will be breaking down one of these banks for a potential investment opportunity. Underneath the sell off in banks, oil stocks have taken almost as hard of a beating. Is this a buying opportunity or is there more downside here? Let's dig in … [This week we are looking at Occidental Petroleum (Ticker: OXY).]( - Mark Power Income: Powell Better Have His A-Game Today Will Powell lose what if any credibility he has left today? Let’s face it, every leader of a reserve currency central bank had an impossible job at the end of their bank’s 100-year cycle at the helm. Its global trading partners demand the currency in order to settle their purchase of energy and other essential goods. It becomes a national emergency when they are short dollars. Powell just happens to be the last man standing and he will have to perform some real magic today to convince America everything is under control. Here’s the thing … it doesn't matter what Powell says today. Once banks start failing the writing is on the wall. [Today, we’ll take a look at what comes next in the markets and what the Fed/Treasury will do to keep the house of cards from crumbling.]( - Griff Profits In Pumps: It’s Fed Decision Day Yay! Spring is here! That is the Spring equinox. I don’t think anyone appreciates the spring more than Chicagoans. You can see them wearing their shorts right around the first 50-degree day. We have been spoiled here in Dallas; the weather has been fabulous. So the equinox is basically the 24 hour period when day and night are pretty equally divided. There is an explanation about how the earth’s axis is not tilted on this day and some other stuff. I won’t nerd out – I would rather give you a trade idea than go through that whole lesson. [On that note, here is my trade idea for today.]( - Licia AG's Views: Janet Yellen Did Not Read The Script From the desk of Option Pit Director of Education Andrew Giovinazzi J-Pow raised 25 bps and said the market is wrong if he is going to lower anytime soon. We need less inflation, apparently, which is what he has been saying all along. Is Congress or the Treasury helping? That is a no! Treasury Sec Yellen says she sees no reason to insure more deposits than they already do. The market did not like that as they thought banks were shaky. The SPDR S&P 500 Trust ETF (Ticker: SPY) tanked after that. [ Do we test $390 SPY? I think so, but for now VIX is not responsive, only up .83 to 22.21 after dipping below 20 as J-Pow and the Fed notes came out. Not a recipe for a SPY rally, sadly, but not a recipe for a crash either. - AG OPTION PIT GLOSSARY [( There are plenty of terms in the trading world that need defining.
