The market is having an up day oh boy!  Don’t be fooled. My favorite indicator is VIX9D > VIX

[fstp, logo, header] July 26, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] The market is having an up day oh boy!  Don’t be fooled. My favorite indicator is VIX9D > VIX. If 9 day volatility is over the 30 day VIX, just normal VIX, traders are still looking for larger short term moves in SPX. My view here is that we will have some up and down into Apple Inc (Ticker: AAPL) earnings. [ded] Keep an eye on this indicator next week. If 9 Day VIX starts to fold under VIX, the market will likely hold up. - AG  [logo, pit profits] Want to find YOUR winning fit? What a whirlwind it has been! I have to say I am a bit tired after the last three days of nonstop Option Pit action. Seminars, speakers, dinners, baseball games … never a dull moment. Here is the Cboe trading floor that everyone visited and actually saw some action as the market was down quite a bit on Wednesday.  [ded]( Here’s Mark at the Cubs game with Chip and Dave [ded]( It was a gorgeous night in Chicago and the Cubbies won. Here is Andrew with our old pal Roma from the trading floor at the famous Cere Cafe where you have to be mindful of the cocktails. And that’s Kevin Green in the background who gave us such a fascinating lecture on 0DTE options. [ded]( We topped it off with a fabulous meal at the infamous Gibson’s steakhouse, it was delicious, as always. [ded]( All in all I would call it a very successful conference. I hope to see you there next year. Hey Traders, I was out for my morning walk, thinking about election season. One of the questions that I always get, which is who had better markets, "Trump or Biden?" So let's break it down... In the four years of the Trump administration. And by the way, I'm going to use the dow as a representative of the market. Trump had an average market of about 12 and a quarter percent. Now, Biden hasn't had full four years. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to double 2020 four's return to date, which is probably unlikely it's going to go that high. And on that four year average, Biden's got about a 9.4% market average. So the market would seem a little bit more favorable under Trump. But here's the thing at Option Pit... We don't care. We're just using all the information we can get our hands on to bring you the best trades. And during that course of time, we've had some fantastic trades that beat that market. I've lost count of the number of 100% trades that our team has had.  We don't care about the politics...We just care about the trades. Take care. - Frank --------------------------------------------------------------- Get all your DC Insider info inside of Frank Gregory's "Power Moves" Newsletter. [Click this link to sign up!]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Don't miss when our traders go live! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
