This could make the summer run a bit longer. We rode an Russell 2000 ETF (Ticker: IWM) strangle in the Trading Desk for a whole 24 hrs before closing it for a 43% gain. [ded] This upward squeeze is causing problems in the VIX and Vol Product.  I will cover that tomorrow in the OP Newsletter. [ded] We are in a long, but not longest, streak of days without a 2% SPX selloff. There is still room to go broke shorting the market. IWM strangles are still cheap in my view. Also, recent data has the Fed feeling confident that inflation is moving sustainably toward 2%. That has Fed Chair Powell questioning his next move. He wants inflation at 2% but is worried that if tightening is not stopped the effects will probably drive inflation below 2%. Getting that balance right is keeping Powell up at night.
