Daily Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] April 19, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] The 1st Quarter of 2024 is going in reverse Hard to believe a stock is up over the last 10 days with SPX down 5%. That stock in UnitedHealth Group Inc (Ticker: UNH). Over the last 3 months that stock is down a touch. [fstp] 10 day UNH Chart If one looks below, the selloff is really in the big tech stocks. Stocks that traded at nosebleed levels. ASML Holdings Inc (Ticker: ASML) got the tech ball rolling down the hill. Now dollars are starting to buy stocks that noone wanted in Q1 2024. That is also a recipe for the market to go sideways a bit unless Big Tech puts up a big earnings number. So far 0 for 2 in ASML and Netflix Inc (Ticker: NFLX). [fstp] If the selloff cannot generate enough steam after the Iran/Israel issue, we should bounce a bit next week as non-tech stocks pick up the slack. - AG  [logo, pit profits] Want to find YOUR winning fit? This pattern is developing right now…the question is will this pattern be like 2015…or like every other time I have seen this pattern. You would have to be living under a rock to know that the market seems stressed. The Fed is not going to lower rates…Iran-Israel….the economy. THey are teaming up to cause the market to have a lot of trouble of late. [The question is what is next…is it VIX of 35-45 or back to 12.]( - Mark  [fpip] Quotes & Books Hi Shoppers, I have a great quote and a good book to share with you today. Marcus Tullius Cicero said, “A home without books is like a body without soul.” He was a Roman lawyer and statesman living 106-43 BC. He also fought against dictatorship in the Roman republic, gotta love that. I just love bookshelves loaded with books and bookstores loaded with books. I have a massive list of books on my “to read" list along with books piled up that I haven't gotten to yet. The best is when you just cannot put it down. I just picked up “The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder” written by David Grann. [fpip] It’s hard to fathom the hardships these men endured. He also wrote “Killers of the Flower Moon”; I enjoyed that one, too. Email me with any of your favorite books so I can add them to my list,  [licia@optionpit.com](mailto:/licia@optionpit.com). On to the markets. I am seeing some support in the S&P 500 (TIcker: SPX) just below here. The short strangle profits if the shares stay between the sold strikes during the options’ lifetime.
