May 11, 2022 🤩Options Changed Trading Forever

Do you remember where you asked your wife to marry you? Or the name of the first stock you ever bought? Isn’t it funny how certain experiences just stick in your brain? On the other hand, I have no clue what I was doing on May 11, 2022 but the CBOE did something that day that changed options trading forever. That was the day that SPX got options expirations for every day of the week. It allowed option junkies to day trade SPX options every single day. “Good for them” I thought. I don’t day trade. So I didn’t pay much attention. Until December of 2022. That’s when I realized that I might be able to use these new options to ADJUST my weekly options strategy. By itself, my strategy to trade weeklies, had done really well. Several years of over 100% gains. But the #1 problem was that if there was a losing trade, it would result in a 50% loss. And that made me afraid to trade and afraid to scale up my size. But IF I could adjust, that would be a total gamechanger… I was at the office when I had this realization…and I got so excited…I rushed home in the middle of the day and started researching different ways to adjust my strategy. I wanted to be totally isolated and be able to totally focus. I wanted to find the answer right away. But it took close to a month. Because I had to backtest and see how it would have done in the past. All the hard work paid off. It worked amazingly well. I now had a way to adjust my strategy that worked every single time except for twice in the last ten years! It blew me away. I couldn’t sleep at night. I couldn’t believe it even though I had all the data. I had others double-check my work. I did it all again myself. But we all reached the same conclusion: HOLY *&^%! This is a way if executed correctly, to pretty much never have a losing trade again! I started trading this new strategy in Jan of 2023. Has it lived up to the hype? Yes.
