------=_Part_10755672_278574470.1689865220594 Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Dear {NAME},  Hallelujah, Hallelujah!  The words are familiar to our ears. Every time Christians are gathered, these words echo as we praise God together.  But in one small city in northern Iraq, these words carry special meaning. The worship band, Melody, singing their hallelujahs in Qaraqosh, Iraq, do so in a place where Christians were chased out, abducted, brutally slaughtered and left for dead.  The hallelujahs have returned to this part of Iraq. [Listen to Melody's powerful story]( Melody was founded by its six members when they were living as displaced people in another city in Iraq. “We began meeting [in Erbil] and playing,” says Sam, Melody’s leader. “Playing music gave us energy, we were able to feel alive again. Doing nothing in Erbil, we tried to revive ourselves through music and revive others as well.”  Thanks to your gifts and prayers, the members were able to return home and glorify God in a place where Christians had been left for dead. “Through your support, we were able to rebuild our churches and houses,” Sam says. “We were able to return and live in safety. Thank you and thank you for your prayers for us. And we will be praying for you, so that God will strengthen you and keep you safe.”  "This land is the land of our forefathers and the land of our children’s future,” says Farid, another member of Melody. “Our music [makes people] understand that we will remain in this land. We must preserve it; we need to deliver a beautiful picture to the world through music.”  Join with your sisters and brothers in Iraq as they rejoice in what God is doing: Hallelujah, hallelujah!  In Christ,  The Open Doors U.S. team  P.S. Did you know we have a monthly prayer calendar?
