[ Friend -- Chelsea and I were so thrilled earlier this month to release our first book together: The Book of Gutsy Women. Growing up, I knew hardly any women who worked outside the home; I looked to my mother, my teachers, and the pages of Life magazine for inspiration. Chelsea, meanwhile, had no shortage of role models who were women, from her pediatrician at home to the first American woman in space. It’s been so much fun to share the stories of women we have admired over the years and, in some cases, been lucky enough to call our friends. Today, [tell me about a gutsy woman in your life]( -- as a bonus, three winners will receive signed copies of The Book of Gutsy Women for you and a friend. Recognizing the women who make our world a better place is one way that I remain hopeful in the face of the hatred running rampant through our politics, so I’d like to hear about a woman who has made a difference to you.
