The ongoing conflict between China and the U.S. has reached near-legendary status. Political jabs on Twitter, escalating tariffs, and conflicts of interest have rendered these two economic powerhouses into a stalemate.
However, while the U.S.'s conflicts tend to dominate the headlines, we're not the only country in conflict with China.
Far from it, in fact.
China has a bit of a history of either armed or political conflict with others.
From 1960 to the present, China has been involved in a conflict with the Turkistan Islamic Party...
In 1969, China and the former Soviet Union were at odds...
From 1979 to 1991, Vietnam had a bone to pick with China...
And now, in 2018, beyond the trade war between the U.S. and China, there is another conflict brewing over in Asia.
This time, it's China's southern neighbor, Malaysia.
[MUST-SEE: How an everyday American turned $4 into $2.4 million](
China and Malaysia have had historically good relations. Malaysia has been China's top trading partner since 2008, and by 2013, trade volume between the two countries reached $106 billion.
However, these good relations have been marred slightly by the ongoing territorial dispute in one very important region.
These two aren't the only countries involved - Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam are all participants - but China plays a huge role in the outcome of the conflict.
I'm referring, of course, to the highly valuable, highly volatile, South China Sea.
Malaysia's Fight Back
In 2016, $3.37 trillion worth of trade passed through the South China Sea.
40% of global liquefied natural gas (LNG) passed through this area in 2017.
And the amount of untapped oil reserves beneath its controversial waters is staggering, to say the least.
Suffice it to say that the South China Sea is both a [vitally important region]( for trade routes, as well as a place with inherent conflict between the various countries that surround it.
Now, China is upping the ante in the South China Sea with advanced weaponry, and new terminals for ships and airplanes.
Part of their plan to dominate this region involves two enormous projects: The East Coast Rail Link, which would connect the South China Sea with shipping routes in Malaysia, and a natural gas pipeline on a Malaysian island.
Both of these projects would herald a [new dominance for China]( in the area, and were set to be developed in Malaysia
However, Malaysia is $250 billion in debt.
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has announced that he is cancelling these infrastructure projects, due to them being too expensive, and have the potential to bankrupt the country.
The former Malaysian leader, who was voted out in May, was happy to partner with and help fund Chinese expansions.
But these two projects in effect would be not valuable or necessary for Malaysia - they did, however, have strategic value to China, and Malaysia decided to push back for the first time.
And Malaysia isn't the only country realizing that accepting Chinese projects could be devastating to national economies. Another example is Sri Lanka, which is spending 80% of its government revenue paying off debt to China.
With these two projects, China could have outperformed Western projects while also helping Chinese companies internationalize.
[The markets could collapse tomorrow and I wouldn't be worried](
The Pentagon's "Secret Weapon"
But just because China has lost two major infrastructure projects in the South China Sea doesn't mean they're not still a [formidable opponent]( to the U.S., which is also heavily involved in the dispute.
In fact, the weaponry that China has deployed in the area is highly sophisticated, and has the potential to do serious damage to both the U.S. Navy and the surrounding countries.
They call this their "Assassin's Mace" offensive.
However, that's not to say we're going to remain in the water like sitting ducks.
The Pentagon has billions of dollars of funding that it is practically throwing at defense contractors.
And there's one contractor who has [developed technology]( to rival that of China's, and could beat them at their own game.
This company is small, less than 1/110th the size of Lockheed Martin. And yet it's at the forefront of this defense revolution.
But it won't remain small for long.
Investors in this company could see a [huge revenue explosion]( and make a fortune off this company.
You could be one of them.

Sincerely,
Kent
