Double your support for free and open access to information and knowledge. The New York Public Libra

Double your support for free and open access to information and knowledge. [View in browser]( [Forward]( [Donate]( [The New York Public Library] Every year, The New York Public Library marks Banned Books Week as part of our mission to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our communities. This mission has taken on new meaning and urgency lately—the American Library Association has reported a record number of banned titles in recent years, many of which explore race, identity, and American history. That's why we gave readers unlimited access to Toni Morrison’s classic—and frequently banned—novels, Beloved and The Bluest Eye, during this year's Banned Books Week, all while sharing free programs and other resources with New Yorkers. Can we count on you to help the Library continue to provide readers with access to books, e-books, and audiobooks, along with author talks, discussion groups, and more? Friends of the Library, our largest membership group, is made up of supporters who believe in the mission of The New York Public Library and have made an investment in our future. Confirm your membership today. [Confirm at $25—We Receive $50]( [Confirm at $50—We Receive $100]( [Confirm at $100—We Receive $200]( [Donate today and double your impact]( The New York Public Library is dedicated to free and open access to information and knowledge. Along with Toni Morrison’s collected works, we offer more than 6 million books, e-books, and other materials in our circulating collections, along with over 46 million items in our research collections, all freely available to our more than 2.4 million library cardholders. And, as of October 2021, we abolished late fines for borrowed materials in order to lower barriers to access and to get more books into the hands of more people. We've just celebrated our first year of being fully fine-free, and we’ve seen significant increases in library card sign-ups, program attendance, and in patrons who have reconnected with the Library. In order to continue to meet all of our patrons’ needs—and reading wishes—we’ve set a Giving Tuesday goal of $150,000. An anonymous donor has agreed to help us reach that goal by doubling the value of every gift we receive before Tuesday at midnight. [Confirm your Friends of the Library membership today and your donation will go twice as far.]( That’s double the books to help young readers learn and dream, double the virtual tutoring resources for students of all ages, and double the e-books and audiobooks for patrons who aren’t able to visit a physical library branch. [Confirm at $50 or more and get a NYPL limited edition enamel pin!]( [Confirm today and your gift goes 2x as far]( Confirm your membership today, and support twice as much knowledge, literacy, and community in New York City. For donations of $50 and more, we’ll send you a free NYPL limited-edition enamel pin as a thank you gift. It has been our honor and our privilege to keep even more New Yorkers reading and learning during our first full year of being fine-free—and to offer our patrons free and open access to books. [Will you join us now in continuing our mission?]( Thank you for all you do to support your fellow readers and New Yorkers—and to maintain open access to information and knowledge.
