[REGISTER]( [Click Here]( to view more NYFA events. [Leah Natasha Thomas]( Leah Natasha Thomas is an award-winning, multi-hyphenate artist, who works in both documentary and narrative. She is a writer, director, creative producer, and co-founder of Cosi/gn, a hybrid entity focused on industry disruption. Ms. Thomas started her career at Revolution Studios and was previously the Director of Industry Relations, leading a not-for-profit dedicated to emerging filmmakers. She has produced 25 to Life, winner of the CNN Grand Jury Prize at the American Black Film Festival (Netflix), 3 1/2 Minutes, winner of the Special Jury Award for Social Impact, Sundance (Participant Media, HBO) shortlisted for the Academy Awards, and America Divided, a five-part documentary series focused on inequality in America, (EPIX) Executive Produced by Shonda Rhimes, Norman Lear, and Common. She recently produced Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye West Trilogy, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Festival, The First Wave, shortlisted for the 2022 Academy Awards, and is in production on the narrative We Real Cool, with writer/director Melissa V. Murray. She is the recipient of the NYU – Critical Collaborations Fellowship, the Sundance Creative Producer Fellowship, and the Tribeca CHANEL Through Her Lens, Women Filmmakers Fellowship. She is the winner of the 2020 IDA Award, Best Musical Documentary for Universe, a Prime-Time Emmy Nominee for Jeen-yuhs, and the Emmy Award Winner for The First Wave, 2022. She holds a BFA in Drama and Politics, and an MA, in Art and Public Policy, both from NYU-Tisch School of the Arts, where she leads a lecture series on Art and Activism. [Liz Hinlein]( Liz Hinlein is an accomplished visual artist, DGA director, and creative director with a vast portfolio of critically acclaimed work across film, commercials, and immersive media. Her debut narrative feature, Other People's Children, premiered at the Director's Guild of America and garnered high praise from Variety as "an intriguing debut." The film received multiple film festival honors, including the prestigious Panavision New Filmmakers Grant, and is currently available for viewing on Apple Tv+ and Amazon Prime. Liz's short films have been screened globally at renowned festivals such as the Berlin Film Festival, Slamdance, and The Hamptons Film Festival. In the immersive space, her documentary VR experience, OSAGE '85, is currently supported by the Venice Biennale. Liz's work in the VR/AR space has earned recognition from clients such as the NFL, Walmart, Accenture, and Byton Auto, with her Accenture project winning Best VR Branded Content at CES. As a sought-after director for high-profile commercials, branding videos, and music videos, Liz has worked with a diverse range of brands and artists, including Castrol Oil, Dove, Lifetime, Revlon, Gillette, Maybelline, A&E, Wella, NARS Cosmetics, Bare Minerals, Clairol, and MAC Cosmetics. She has also creatively directed and photographed projects for renowned artists such as Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, Quincy Jones, Incubus, and Fishbone. Liz is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts and holds an MFA in Cinematography from The American Film Institute. She is also the Creative Director of Film and Cinematography at the New York Film Academy, where she created and hosts the popular Zoom talk show series The 20/20 Online Series, which amassed over 1.5 million followers. Currently, Liz is in pre-production on OSAGE '85, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
