Sure, it looks tasty... but it’s actually packed with sugar and chemicals. Here’s why I avoid it. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, {NAME}! This time of year, I always see commercials for a certain fast-food “green milkshake”... And I’ll admit — it looks pretty tasty! But even when I’m in the mood to splurge... I ALWAYS avoid this “green milkshake.” Why? Because it’s not only PACKED with empty calories and sugar... it’s also a major gut bomb. To give you an idea, its top ingredients are: *Vanilla ice cream (sweetened with sugar AND corn syrup) *Whipped cream (and plenty of “liquid” sugar) *Flavored syrup (with two kinds of corn syrups) Plus a lot of hard-to-pronounce chemical preservatives — like sodium benzoate and carrageenan. And get this... A small milkshake packs in nearly 500 calories… and 58 grams of sugar. That’s about as much as 12 Oreos — just from one drink! So today, I thought I’d take on a unique “healthy recipe” challenge... And after a bit of experimenting, I’ve come up with a tasty, chilly mint drink of my own. I call it my Minty Green “Clover” Smoothie. It’s refreshingly light, yet super creamy — and best of all, it’s GREAT for your gut. Here’s how to make it:  Amy’s Minty Green “Clover” Smoothie - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I recommend our [Nucific PrebioBoost]() - 1 cup mint leaves - 1 cup spinach leaves - 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed - 5 pitted dates - 2 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk or low-fat milk - ½ banana, frozen - ½ tsp peppermint extract (optional) Directions: Pour all ingredients into a blender, then pulse until smooth. Pour into a glass, and enjoy! Okay, let’s talk a little about what makes this smoothie SO great for you. Spinach This leafy green superfood is low in calories — and packed with nutrients. (I’m talking vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A, and fiber... all of which are essential for great digestion AND immune health.) Flaxseed Rich in omega-3 “good” fats, this tiny superfood can help support a healthy heart AND a healthy gut. Plus, it’s high in fiber, which is great for keeping your digestion regular. Dates These fruits aren’t just sweet and tasty — they’re also packed with antioxidants AND fiber. Dates are also a great source of natural energy (minus the crash, of course). So {NAME}, if you’re planning on “going green” today, I hope you’ll give this recipe a try. And as always, feel free to email me to let me know what you think! I’m always looking for ways to improve my recipes, so don’t hesitate to reach out :-) Until then... hope you have a very happy St. Patrick’s Day! To your present and future health, Amy Lee, MD Head of Nutrition P.S. By the way, [that vanilla protein powder I mentioned earlier]( is also PACKED with prebiotic fiber — which can be immensely helpful if you have irregular digestion. This formula is a fantastic way to help manage your weight and ease digestive issues (so you’ll actually get even MORE digestive benefits once you add it)... Plus, it just so happens to have a naturally tasty vanilla flavor that can make any smoothie or beverage a lot more delicious!    This email was sent to {EMAIL} by amylee@nucific.com 19528 Ventura Blvd. #343 Tarzana, CA 91356 [Edit Profile]( | [Manage Subscriptions]( | [Report Spam]( Â
