{NAME}, have you ever had a conversation that really stuck with you? Well, that happened to me earlier this week… When a new patient of mine — I’ll call her “Carol” — came into my office. I began our visit by asking her the normal question: “What brings you in today?” And to my surprise… Carol’s eyes filled up with tears as she answered. “I’ve reached my breaking point, Dr. Lee. Something has to change.” It turns out, Carol had a pretty tough year. After going through a messy divorce and losing her job, her stress levels were at an all-time high… And as a result, she’d had no time for diet and exercise — and had gained quite a bit of weight. “Last week, I finally worked up the courage to go to the gym… and then something terrible happened.” As Carol sat at one of the exercise bikes, she noticed a teenager across the gym had his cell phone out… And was actually recording a video of her. He was even laughing to himself as he did it! At first, Carol tried to ignore the kid... but after a few minutes, she’d had enough. She picked up her things and walked out — and she hasn’t been back to the gym since. “It was completely humiliating,” she said. “I’d finally worked up the nerve to go to the gym… and I was made fun of for it.” Hearing Carol say these things, I was absolutely heartbroken — and angry. After all, she was doing everything she could to improve her health… The last thing she deserved was to be punished for that! Whenever I hear stories like this, I’m reminded of how unfair the world can be for people trying to lose weight. The discouraging comments from family and friends… the judgemental looks from strangers... These kinds of setbacks can be incredibly demotivating — like taking two steps forward, and one BIG step back. So with that in mind, I wanted to check in with YOU, {NAME}. Have you ever felt this way? If so, I’d love for you to write in and tell me about it. Maybe you woke up feeling great one morning… until you overheard a coworker comment on your weight. Maybe you went into a fitting room with a bunch of jeans in your size… only for none of them to actually fit. Or maybe you worked up the nerve to try a new workout class… only to feel anxious and embarrassed the whole time. Whatever it is, feel free to hit ‘reply’ and share your experience. I believe it’s important to talk about these things… Because when you share these struggles with someone else, it almost always makes the journey easier. And if you’re like Carol, and you’re feeling frustrated by these setbacks… I want you to know: You are incredible for persevering through so much. I believe in you, {NAME} — and I’m here for you every step of the way! To your present and future health, Amy Lee, MD Head of Nutrition  [Top logo]( P.S. I mean it, click ‘reply’ and let me know — have you ever experienced a situation like Carol’s? Even if it’s just a sentence or two, I encourage you to share your story. I do my best to read every email in my inbox, and I really look forward to reading your response.    This email was sent to {EMAIL} by amylee@nucific.com 19528 Ventura Blvd. #343 Tarzana, CA 91356 [Edit Profile]( | [Manage Subscriptions]( | [Report Spam]( Â
