Plus, tune in for Top Shelf again today [View this email online]( [NPR Tiny Desk Contest]( We mentioned at the beginning of this year’s Contest that we’d be taking the Tiny Desk Contest On The Road tour to eight cities this year — and today, [you can get tickets]( The tour is a showcase of the [incredible Contest community]( It will be headlined by this year’s winner and feature standout local openers from each city, in collaboration with NPR Member stations across the country. We’ll start on the West Coast (we got almost 1,000 entries from California this year!). Then, we’ll have a few shows on the East Coast (with a special stop in New York, where our winner will perform at BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn!). And we’ll swing by the Midwest before our grand finale stop in the South. In the upcoming weeks, we’ll share who the opening artists will be — but even if you’re not performing at a stop, we’d love to meet you! You can get your tickets now to join us, support your local music scene, and celebrate this Contest community in real life. Here’s where we’re headed: - Los Angeles on June 20 with LAist, KCRW and KVCR - San Francisco on June 22 with KALW and KQED - Seattle on June 23 with KUOW and KNKX - Atlanta on June 25 with WABE and WCLK - Philadelphia on June 30 with WHYY, WXPN and WRTI - Brooklyn on July 1 with WBGO - Chicago on July 6 with Vocalo - Houston on July 8 with Houston Public Media Foundation and KPVU [GET TICKETS]( The 2023 Tiny Desk Contest is presented by Capital One and supported by Guayakí Yerba Mate. --------------------------------------------------------------- Newsletter continues after sponsor message --------------------------------------------------------------- Also, wherever you are in the world, you can join us (virtually) this afternoon for Episode 2 of Tiny Desk Contest Top Shelf. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
