Thank you for entering; plus, whatâs next [View this email online]( [NPR Tiny Desk Contest]( About 10 hours ago, the 2023 Tiny Desk Contest closed for entries. And you all blew us away! We received nearly 6,000 entries. We got entries from artists in each of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico — entries from big bands and solo acts and artists performing in ways we’ve never seen before. Thank you. You might be wondering what’s next. If you submitted to the Contest: First, please take a moment to congratulate yourself and be proud of the music you created! We know it’s no small feat to put yourself out there and submit to the Contest. Even the biggest stars get nervous performing their music in a space as intimate as the Tiny Desk. After you sent in your video, you should have received a confirmation email with the subject line: “Your Entry Was Received!” Over the next few days and weeks, your entries will show up on [the 2023 entry browser](. We recommend perusing the site to watch everyone else’s videos — but don’t worry if you don’t see yours there yet. We really do watch every single video and it takes us weeks to add all the approved videos to the site. We’d also love it if you shared your entry with your friends, family, fans, fans-to-be, etc., on your social media channels using #TinyDeskContest. You could also take a moment to congratulate your fellow contestants in the [Tiny Desk Contest community Facebook group.]( The 2023 Tiny Desk Contest is presented by Capital One and supported by Guayakí Yerba Mate. --------------------------------------------------------------- Newsletter continues after sponsor message
--------------------------------------------------------------- Over the next couple of months, our judges will be reviewing your entries. They’ll also be sharing their favorites as part of our annual Tiny Desk Contest Top Shelf YouTube series (more to share about that soon!). And we’ll be featuring more of your entries on NPR Music’s social channels. Then in May, we’ll announce this year’s Contest winner, who will play their very own Tiny Desk concert before performing alongside some of you as they headline our eight-city Tiny Desk Contest On The Road tour this summer. And a friendly reminder: Even if you don’t win the Contest this year, you could still play the Tiny Desk someday. Just last week, we published a [Tiny Desk concert with five-time Contest entrant Selina Moon]( an artist who never won the Contest, but whose entries consistently impressed our judges year after year. When Contest judge and Tiny Desk producer Bobby Carter asked Selina how it felt to finally play behind the Desk, she said, "I've imagined and rehearsed being here for so long; it just felt natural."
