The U.S. is on the cusp of a nationwide rail strike just before the holidays. You're probably asking "Wait, again? Wasn't there a deal?" Yes — but all 12 unions must ratify it, and the tentative deal [disappointed many rail workers](. Today is one of the busiest and most profitable days of the year for Starbucks, and employees at more than 100 stores are on strike. Customers usually line up at the crack of dawn on Red Cup Day to snag a [limited edition holiday reusable cup](. Employees hope these customers will also support their cause. Russia and Ukraine have renewed a deal originally set to expire on Saturday that will allow safe passage for grain exports from Ukrainian ports. Nearly 11 million tons of grain and foodstuffs have been exported under the agreement, which has been a [lifeline to Ukraine's crippled wartime economy]( and helped ease food shortages around the world. The Senate has voted to advance a bill with bipartisan that would protect same-sex and interracial marriages under federal law.
