This is how the city is preparing for [unprecedented and challenging security risks](. Climate change is bringing more frequent, longer-lasting and more intense heat waves. They can be deceptively deadly, and disaster experts say traditional weather forecasts and warnings are [falling short]( at protecting people. The Affordable Care Act mandates that insurers pay the full cost of medical screenings and other preventive services. But a [ruling from a Texas lawsuit]( could put that in jeopardy. Nearly 7,000 freight trains crisscross the nation daily, hauling the stuff that runs our economy. But, [this whole system could shut down]( later this week, because drivers are angry about the tough lifestyle that comes with railroading. This doesn't just affect valuable goods either; passengers also could end up stranded. Starting today, nearly all abortions will stop in Indiana after state lawmakers passed a full ban in August. The ruling — [the first of its kind since the fall of Roe]( — doesn't just affect Indiana residents. It's been a destination for patients who need abortions in neighboring states, and they'll now have to travel to Illinois. ➡️ Similar laws are being passed around the nation. The West Virginia legislature passed [House Bill 302]( outlawing abortion with limited exceptions, on Tuesday. Quiet quitting has been the talk of the office for the past few weeks. But is that really the right name for it?
