The two shootings came one day after a deadly shooting at a Tulsa medical office, and the [country is still reeling]( from mass shootings in Buffalo, N.Y., and Uvalde, Texas. In rural areas, gun raffles are a popular way to raise money for different causes. The recent spate of mass shootings has gotten some organizers to [rethink their events.]( But the change of heart likely is temporary, and there's still great support for the raffles in some communities. COVID-19 vaccinations for kids younger than 5 could start right after the Juneteenth holiday.
