Wade was made nearly 50 years ago today. The nation remains bitterly divided on the issue even today, and the court is [poised to overturn]( or significantly weaken the decision. Good news for homeowners and bad news for new buyers: the price of houses rose faster than ever last year. The typical home saw [a gain of more than $50,000]( in equity in just a year. The boom is fueled in part by work-from-home employees seeking larger spaces. Inflation continues to be on the rise, and some parents are struggling to make ends meet this month without the financial support of the child tax credit. Congress failed to pass Biden's Build Back Better bill last December, which [included an extension]( of the tax credit. Grammy-winning singer and actor Meat Loaf has died at 74. His album Bat Out Of Hell has sold 43 million copies worldwide, making it [one of the best-selling]( of all time. Drug-resistant bacteria have become one of the leading causes of death worldwide, fueled by antibiotic misuse.
