Plus, looking to next year’s Contest [View this email online]( [NPR Tiny Desk Contest]( It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up the seventh year of the Tiny Desk Contest. Thank you so much to everyone who’s entered year after year: especially those of you who stuck with us when the pandemic put a hold on tour, and helped us find [new ways]( to highlight Contest talent. And thank you to everyone who entered the Contest for the very first time this year: those of you who put yourselves out there and shared your music with us during an uncertain time. We hope you’re able to be with loved ones this holiday season. We here on the Contest team know that music can [bring people together]( (even virtually). Maybe you could [share your Contest entry]( with friends and family — or you could [watch a Tiny Desk holiday concert]( or two together. Or, if you want to see how NPR Music has been reflecting on the year, you could check out their lists of the best music of 2021. The lists include bests of genres (see: [Latin]( [electronic]( [hip-hop]( [classical]( and [R&B]( [NPR listeners’ picks]( and more. And as you’re perusing the lists, you might see a familiar Contest name. We’re so proud that two-time entrant Yasmin Williams appears on the lists for [The Best New Artists & Breakthroughs of 2021]( [How Black women reclaimed country and Americana music in 2021]( and [NPR Music’s 50 Best Albums of 2021](. You might also find some familiar Contest names on this playlist of [Bob Boilen's Favorite Music of 2021](. --------------------------------------------------------------- Newsletter continues after sponsor message --------------------------------------------------------------- Next year’s Contest will be here before you know it (hint: It might be a good idea to start getting the band back together in January) and we’ve got some exciting things in store. We felt so lucky to hear your music and welcome [2021 Contest winner Neffy]( to Bob’s Tiny Desk this year. We can’t wait to do it all again — and hopefully invite even more of you to the Desk — in 2022. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
