The conversations show how NRA officials constructed their response to the deadly attack, and ultimately [rejected a suggestion to cancel the NRA’s annual convention that year]( fearing they would look weak. A federal judge rejected former president Donald Trump’s bid to block the release of White House documents related to the Jan. 6 insurrection. The House select committee investigating the attack had requested the documents, but Trump claimed executive privilege. The former president [immediately moved to appeal]( the decision. New analyses show that the promises countries are making to cut greenhouse gas emissions aren’t enough to meet the Paris climate accords goals. A survey shows only four countries have plans to zero out carbon emissions, far from what’s needed to [avoid the catastrophic consequences]( of climate change. Pfizer and BioNTech are asking the Food and Drug Administration to authorize COVID-19 booster shots for all adults, not just people at risk and those who are 65 and older. The companies say their data shows a third shot has [a vaccine efficacy rate of 95%]( or greater. COVID-19 vaccinations for kids aged 5-11 began in earnest last week. By the end of today, nearly 1 million will have [gotten their first shot](.
