Sharing the voices of great undiscovered artists Since we started the Tiny Desk Contest in 2014, it?

Sharing the voices of great undiscovered artists Since we started the Tiny Desk Contest in 2014, it’s always been about giving a platform to unsigned artists and sharing their voices with the world. Today, we're excited to tell you about a new way we’re sharing the voices of artists in this Contest community. It's called Tiny Desk Contest Top Shelf, and it's a livestream series featuring the very best 2020 Contest entries, picked by our judges. In each episode, Bob and a special guest (including the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest judges) will be live on [NPR Music's YouTube channel]( watching their favorite Contest entries and talking about what makes them stand out from the thousands we received this year. Sometimes, they'll even talk to the Contest artists themselves. These virtual events will give you the chance to connect with Bob and the other judges in real time and get to know and support artists in this community from across the country. The whole Contest team can’t wait to see you there and discover new music with you. --------------------------------------------------------------- Newsletter continues after sponsor message --------------------------------------------------------------- We'll kick things this Thursday, June 11 with an episode featuring Tiny Desk Contest producer and Contest judge [Bobby Carter](. Then, we'll have a new live episode on YouTube every Thursday at 3 p.m. ET for eight weeks. After that, we'll announce the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest winner. If you want to learn more — or want to get weekly reminders when our episodes are going live — head on over to [topshelf.nprpresents.org](. While this Contest is a way for us to bring great undiscovered artists to the Tiny Desk, we're also in it for all of the desks we discover along the way. Our latest Contest supercut video features some of those standout desks: from huge to tiny, from simple to ornate, from store-bought to handmade and more. And we love to discover new desks and faces through the Tiny Desk Contest, but it’s also really special to see new entries from artists who have entered the Contest in previous years. Recently, on the All Songs Considered blog, we featured some of these [dedicated musicians who have entered the Contest three or more times](. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
