We're here to help with your New Year's resolutions Since the new year began, we've been gearing up

We're here to help with your New Year's resolutions Since the new year began, we've been gearing up for the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest. We’re so excited to share everything we have in store, and we think this will be the best year yet. If your New Year’s resolution was to find more opportunities to be creative, challenge yourself, or simply do more of what you love, you’re in luck: The Tiny Desk Contest is on its way. One of the things we look forward to each year of the Contest is the range of creativity and talent we see in entries across the board. Throughout the Contest — both before and after we’ve chosen our winner — we love to celebrate individual Contest artists and the music they make. Last year, we put together a list of entries that our judges especially loved called [Tiny Desk Top Shelf]( including [Blessing Offor]( song about his home in Nigeria and [NoSo]( complex, catchy guitar hooks. The Contest can also be a catalyst for musicians’ careers, helping them get noticed as artists on the rise. We’re so proud to see two-time Contest entrant and hip-hop artist [Oompa]( named an [“artist to watch” in 2020]( by NPR Music Member stations. We can’t wait to discover even more great artists through this year’s Contest, which will be announced very soon. If you’re reading this newsletter, you’ll be among the first to know those details. Have a friend who you think should enter the Contest or join this community? Forward this email to them so they can be in the know, too. From the Desk, NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest team P.S. If you’re looking to brighten up your day, we suggest this [energizing performance on the Today Show]( from our 2017 Tiny Desk Contest winner (and recent best new artist Grammy nominee!), Tank and the Bangas. What do you think of today's email? We'd love to hear your thoughts, questions and feedback: [tinydeskcontest@npr.org](mailto:tinydeskcontest@npr.org?subject=Newsletter%20Feedback) Interested in connecting with music-lovers and music-makers across the Contest community?
