Here's what we're following today.
The House Judiciary Committee approved two articles of impeachment against President Trump – for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Both were [approved on party-line votes]( — 23-17. The committee sent the resolution to the full House for a vote on Wednesday.
China and the United States have agreed on what has been called the first phase of a trade deal. President Trump has given his blessing to a tentative deal that will avert tariffs on [$160 billion of imports]( of goods from China. The tariffs had been set to begin on Sunday.
Voters in the United Kingdom have given Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party its biggest majority in 30 years. The win all but ensures [the United Kingdom will leave the European Union]( in January.
A team of New Zealand police and military specialists on Friday recovered the bodies of six victims killed by this week’s volcanic eruption on White Island that injured dozens more. [Two more people remain missing]( and searchers plan to return as soon as it’s safe.
