The administration had already waived the levies on most major U.S. allies, but this officially delays them until June 1, as the U.S. continues talks to revise NAFTA with Canada and Mexico. Hans-Maximo Musielik/AP [Asylum For Some In Caravan]( Eight of the nearly 200 migrants that traveled through Mexico to the U.S. border at San Diego have been approved to apply for asylum. The migrants say they are fleeing violence in their home countries. A spokesperson for Customs and Border Patrol said she expects the time for processing to be short. [Cardinal Charged With Sexual Assault]( Cardinal George Pell is the highest-ranking Vatican official to be charged in the church’s long-standing sex abuse scandal. Pell will stand trial on the sexual abuse charges, to which he has pleaded “not guilty.” --------------------------------------------------------------- IN THE NEWS: Digging Deeper A new survey shows that almost half of Americans feel lonely. Nearly [50 percent of respondents reported that they feel alone or left out]( always or sometimes, according to health insurer Cigna. Younger generations are slightly more lonely than older generations. Those with more in-person interactions on a daily basis were often less lonely. The survey also suggests that American workplaces are an important source of social relationships and also that work-life balance is important for avoiding loneliness. Why it matters: Studies have found that loneliness is a predictor of premature death, not just for the elderly but even more so for younger people. It has been linked with a higher risk of coronary heart disease and stroke, and has been shown to influence our genes and our immune systems — even recovery from breast cancer. Update: The latest in the #MeToo movement A group of women of color within the Time’s Up movement is pushing for the music and entertainment industry to [cut ties to singer R. Kelly]( who has been accused of sexual misconduct and abuse. The group is putting pressure on Kelly’s label and other businesses to cancel his shows. Kelly’s team denies the charges, which date back two decades. Meanwhile, actress [Ashley Judd is suing film executive Harvey Weinstein]( for sexual harassment and defamation. Judd says Weinstein damaged her career by bad-mouthing her to a filmmaker, keeping her from a role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Weinstein denies trying to hurt her career.
