I'd be lying to you if I told you rejection doesn't hurt me anymore, {NAME}. It stings. And me and my "Dandelions" co-author, Bobbi Illing, just received our very first bookstore rejection. And that came even after a stellar recommendation from a friend. Ouch! It took the wind out of me for a minute. But here is what you learn in life when you're paying attention: "I'm going to pass" actually means, "I am going to pass right now." Timing means more than even relationships. There has to be a need or a desire for what you're offering. This bookstore owner doesn't know her shop needs me yet. Is that her fault or mine? If I wanted to be a victim with a totally valid story of rejection, I'd make it her fault. But if I want to sell books and inspire my readers to pick up the pen and write-a-long with us, I have to take 100% responsibility. Choose the story that serves the dream. No blaming. But also... No stopping. One of the most influential books I've ever read, "The Four Hour Work Week" by Tim Ferris, was rejected by 26 out of 27 publishers. It went on to sell over 2.1 million copies (and counting). At least for me, I'm independently published so that obstacle is out of the way. Now I have to get my foot in the door of bookstores across the country. I have approximately 10,499 more to go. I did the same thing with escrow officers and estate planning attorneys when prospecting. Start wide and stay in constant contact. Don't take rejection personally. It's not about you. It's usually about timing. In Phoenix, I started with a list of over 500 attorneys, which I narrowed to just a smidge over 300, which resulted in 98 conversations, which resulted in four attorney clients with a combined volume to provide over $2,000 a week in trust delivery revenue to me. I was "rejected" by 98% of the attorneys I reached out too. But four of the 2% that responded positively had enough volume to pay me six-figures a year. There's over 200,000 estate planning attorneys in the country, and 60,000 or so escrow officers. Your dream clients are waiting for you. Don't let the fear of rejection stop you. It's not "no," it's "not yet." Keep going, and follow-up, and follow-up again, and again, and again, Bill PS- Don't reject me again this weekend, LOL. I've had enough. You can support the new short essay collection, "Dandelions," by purchasing the Kindle edition for just $1 at the link below. And, if you haven't done so already, download the list of 25 lessons I've learned while marketing to all these estate planning attorneys. I'll include the link below as well. [Buy the Dandelions book here]( [Download the Pivot or Quit It Guide to Marketing to Attorneys](   [Unsubscribe]( | Sent by NotaryCoach.com 1415 Commercial Avenue, #237 • Anacortes, WA • 98221

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
