Don't rely on Google???!!! I know what you're thinking, {NAME}. I've been ramming Google Business Profile down your throat for years, and NOW I tell you not to rely on it??? Let's be clear: If you're going to grow your mobile notary business today, you must have a Google Business Profile. And, even more than that, you need to have an optimized Google Business Profile that is actively updated. Google works. But don't stop there. Customers come to you from two directions- your online visibility (Google, etc.) AND through your relationships. Don't forget the relationships! And I am not only about escrow officers and attorneys, and the other client prospects we pursue daily. I am talking about your people. All those that make up your professional AND your personal network. They're all going to need a notary public (or a fingerprint tech, or real estate agent, or a wedding officiant, or an apostille) at some point. At the very least they'll know someone who does. Several years ago (OMG Over 20 years ago!!!), I won an hour one-on-one conversation with one of the top performing real estate agents in the country. She earned millions in commission every year selling mansions in Paradise Valley (AZ). At the time, I was considering a career in real estate, but I was worried that in order to be successful, it was going to be all about "who you know," and I told her that. How could I succeed? I didn't know anyone rich or famous. Know what she said? It IS all about who you know. Sure, some people are born with connections. But most successful people build those connections. She didn't know anybody when she started in real estate. Her husband was abusive and unsupportive. Still, she was determined to build connections. If it really was all about who you know, she had to know them. She made a point to write down the name and address (back when people still mailed things) of every single person she ever met. Then she made a notation about the person that helped her remember them or the conversation so she could reference it later. And then she stayed in touch. That's it. She'd send a card or two, maybe a handwritten note occasionally, and sprinkle in a phone call a couple times a year. She built an empire on relationships. And it works for our business too. As of this writing, a LinkedIn poll I started yesterday is trending at 57% of respondents believing their personal and professional network contains less than 100 people. If you fall in that category, I am going to wager you are grossly underestimating your most valuable asset. I created a workbook and exercise to help you identify an easy 140 people to add to your contact list right away. It's part of yesterday's blog. [Get the workbook and exercises here]( The battle for your dreams, your business...your empire, is fought on two fronts-Technology and people. Fortify each of those with robust online visibility and a commitment to building authentic relationships and you will thrive in any business. Now go and get it! Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
