WooHoo, It's Friday, {NAME}! Recently, many Notaries have felt the need to expand their services to include what us commonly called, General Notary Work (GNW). In short, GNW is simply everything else a Notary does outside of loan signings. These are often one-off type documents, like a vehicle title transfer, or a Power of Attorney. But GNW can also include more complex appointments, like Living Trusts, vehicle loan docs, and others. Because of the combination of the state-approved Notary fees and the travel fee most states allow for, these GNW appointments can be pretty lucrative. Especially when you go through additional training and get serious about one particular niche. Then you move from General Notary work to what Laura Biewer has coined as, Specialty Notary Work (SNW). So how do you get more General Notary Work or Specialty Notary Work? Two places: Relationships and Online Presence. As you get more clear on exactly what kind of appointments you want more of, you can get super strategic on your relationship building. Until then, Google Business Profile is the best way to generate leads for your Notary business. Your potential customers are searching for your services on Google. That's a fact. Google's job as a search engine is to match those searchers to businesses that are most relevant to their needs. So, your job is to make sure Google knows all about the services you provide and where you provide them. In very basic terms, that is Search Engine Optimization. This is so important to Google that they actually provide a FREE service to local businesses called Google Business Profile. This helps businesses inform Google of all their services, categories, and offers, as well as their specific geographic information. They've tried to make it as easy as possible to load your basic information into their system so they can match you with more of their searchers (over five billion searches a day). [You can get your free Google Business Profile Listing Here]( Direct from Google. Once you get that up, then the real fun begins. Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a long-term commitment for your business. You have to stay engaged, update your info, and consistently enhance your profile. Still, if you set your profiles, like your Google Business Profile, up with a solid foundation of your keywords & phrases, a full menu of your services, solid and accurate Name, Address, and Phone info, you'll start to gain steam online without too much more effort from you. Your online presence become more "maintenance" work than down and dirty exhaustion.
