{NAME}, Greetings from NYC! How are we already over 1/3rd of the way through September? Wasn't it just August last week? Lately, I feel like time is just flying by. Or is it just me? In two weeks I'm heading to Europe for a bit. This will be my first pure personal trip all year. A lot of my travels in the last couple of years have been work-related: tours, conferences, destination partnerships. Japan was supposed to be a fun personal trip but then I got sick so I spent most of my trip in a hotel watching Harry Potter. Now, I have two weeks to roam. I haven't decided where I'm going yet, except I know I'll be flying into Paris and out of London. The rest is kind of up in the air. I'm very excited to be "nomadic" for a bit. To that end, I've also started exploring NYC more. Last week, [I did this awesome Brooklyn pizza tour](). I found some new places to eat and learned a lot about the history of pizza here. This week I'm heading to Ellis Island, the MOMA, and doing a photo walk (if the weather holds out). In our busy lives, we rarely explore our backyard. It's not something we think about unless people come and visit. I think that's a huge mistake. First, because we don't learn about where we live. And, second, because we don't break our routine. Work, gym, eat, see friends, go out to dinner, do the same stuff, run errands, repeat. That's the life of people I know here (and I know a lot of people). That was the life of people I knew in Austin. That was my life. But, this time around, I'm determined to change the story. Life is too short for routine. And, if you're not proactive about it, it's too easy to have inertia just drag you along. I'll have more to say on this topic in the coming weeks! NEW COMMUNITY UPDATES 1.
