{NAME}, Greetings from Oaxaca! This is my first trip out of the country since...well, our last Oaxaca tour in October!! I mean it's been so long that it took me a second to even remember where I put my passport! Oaxaca has changed a lot since I was last here. There are a lot more tourists (and more tour companies), a ton of new restaurants and shops, and prices have gone up a lot. Now, I'm not one of those travelers who is like, "Ugh more tourists." I mean, I am bringing groups here and I tell everyone I meet just how magical this place is. And it still is magical. The colorful buildings, incredible food, beautiful art, and warm locals — that's all still here. But for how long? It's not just Westerners either. A lot of Argentinians and Mexicans (especially those from Mexico City) are coming here too. It's wild how quickly a place can change and, while there are a lot of local operators trying to ensure all this growth is managed, I hope there is some larger plan to make sure Oaxaca doesn't end up like other overdeveloped areas. All that said, it's been great being back on the road. I'm connecting with old friends, showing our tour group some of my favorite spots in the city, and, overall, just really excited about the coming year of travel. I've got a nomadic soul and it's ready to start wandering again. After this, I'll be in Phoenix in a couple weeks for Taylor Swift ([I'm hosting a meet-up too]()), then Mexico City, and then Europe for 3 weeks! There's a lot of travel coming up and I'm here for it! NOTE: We have ONE spot on our April [Central Europe tour](=) and another spot on our [Italy tour](=).
