{NAME}, Greetings from Austin, where I'll be for the foreseeable future. Not that I am upset about that but, now that I have been home for three full weeks and with no trips on the horizon, I am starting to get antsy. I keep getting FOMO from seeing all my friends in places like Japan, Bordeaux, and Thailand! In the past, when I've been home, I've at least had one trip coming up to look forward to. This time, I got nothing. I feel very out of my element knowing that I won't be traveling for the next few months. How does a nomad become a non-nomad? How do I get used to routine? It feels very weird to me. I suspect the more I get into a routine here, the more second nature it will become. As Hemmingway said, things happen gradually and then suddenly. Being in one place is a completely different feeling than I am used to. I'm filling my days but this unease is reminding me of what it was like to go traveling and get fully outside my comfort zone. And that's something we should all do as often as we can. It never gets easier though. If you're in Austin tonight, [come join our monthly travel meet-up at 6pm]( and tell me how you adjusted!
