{NAME}, Greetings from NYC! Fall will be soon upon us and I for one look forward to snuggling up to a good book as the leaves change. Fall is my absolute favorite season...and there are a lot of books calling my name right now! As I settle back into my apartment, I plan to read them all. Here are my three favorite reads from last month: [Tender is the Night]( - When I was a kid, I read all the American lit classics. While in Scotland, I picked this up at a train station, wondering if I would still love the book years later. I did. Following the lives of Dick and Nicole Diver and a young actress named Rosemary, the book takes place in Europe in the 1920s and is based heavily on F. Scott Fitzgerald's own life. Beautifully rewritten and descriptive, it's one of his greatest works. [Buy on Amazon]( | [Buy on Bookshop]( [Sahara Unveiled]( - Written by journalist William Langewiesche in the 1990s, this is beautifully detailed, wonderfully written with punchy prose, and gives you deep insight into the culture and history of the region. Langewiesche travels from Algeria through Niger and Mali before ending in Dakar. I was hooked from page one.  [Buy on Amazon]( | [Buy on Bookshop]( [The Power of Habit]( This is one of the most influential books on habits there is. It is a revealing look at why we do what we do and how we can break out of our bad habits. Re-reading it helped me reflect on my own habits and the current ones I am trying to change. If you haven't read it yet, do so. We all have bad habits we want to change. This will help you understand why you do what you do and how to break the cycle. [Buy on Amazon]( | [Buy on Bookshop]( OUR NEXT BOOK CLUB PICK IS... Written by the godfather of vagabonding, this is a must-read for long-term travelers. Rolf Potts spent 10 years on the road (he even walked across Israel) and his book contains valuable insights, quotes, and a lot of practical information for those looking for a deeper experience on the road. If long-term travel and backpacking had a bible, this would be it. [Click here to join our live Q&A with Rolf on September 7th!]( **** If you’re looking for even more suggested books, be sure to [check out all my favorites on Bookshop](. It's not as cheap as Amazon but the site helps small, independent books. (But, if you only use Kindle or live elsewhere, [here's the Amazon link]( Best, Nomadic Matt P.S. - While I appreciate everyone sending me their books, I have a long, long, long reading list and I can't accept any books to review or feature here. I appreciate you offering but, if the universe wills it, I will find your book and read it and put it here. Thanks.
