{NAME}, Hello from Los Angeles! Yup, I'm still here. What was supposed to be a quick four-day visit has turned into a 10-day trip. I originally came here to film for some brands and, in true Hollywood fashion, all the dates changed last minute so it just made sense to stay. But that's ok because I love LA! [I used to hate the city](. A few visits back, I realized why: Los Angeles isn’t built for tourists. Yes, tourists come here. Yes, there are a lot of touristy things to do here. But it’s not like other places where you can explore a long list of attractions, get around easily, and develop a "feel" for the city in a short period of time. No, the sprawling nature of Los Angeles, the traffic and cost of getting around, the lack of a city center, and the transient nature of its inhabitants make it a bad "tourist" city. To get to know Los Angeles, you have to live there. It’s found in the day-to-day pace of the city. Los Angeles is a place you just "be" in. The next time you don't vibe with a place, ask yourself, "What if the beauty of this place is found in just doing nothing in particular? What if I just be?" Cities are, after all, built for the needs of their residents, not tourists. So, as you travel this summer, don't try to make places conform to you. Let them take your hand and guide you around. Throw away the long list of things to do and just be. You might end up turning a place you initially hate into one of your favorite spots in the world.
