Hey {NAME},
Greetings from Austin! This week I've settled into my old routine and have been cooking up a storm, connecting with friends, and catching up on sleep in my cozy bed. Triple win!
Even though travel is on hold, the team and I over at FLYTE, our community nonprofit, have been working hard behind the scenes. FLYTE raises money to send high school students on overseas trips.
So, like everything else in the world, it was messed up by COVID. I mean, you can't really send students on planes in the middle of a pandemic, right?
But fate is funny and, in the middle of it all, opportunity came knocking!
Over the last few months, weâve been working with [Crabtree & Evelyn]( (yep, the bath and body brand!) and today weâre announcing that FLYTE is their official nonprofit partner! Theyâre donating $35,000 to FLYTE!!!!! (In addition to their generous support, theyâre offering readers a discount on their first order with the code FLYTE10. [Just type in the code at checkout to save!](
When the company first reached out to our team, I was a bit confused as to why a beauty company would be interested in education and travel. But, after talking with their team about the companyâs founder, Cyrus Harvey, I made the connection.
Cyrus was a nomad back in the 1950s. He traveled the world and brought back soaps and beauty products he found on his travels to his home in Massachusetts (Go Boston!), started Crabtree & Evelyn, and the rest is history!
Additionally, [today we are announcing our next school partner! We're sending a group of students from New Orleans to Puerto Rico!](
Of course, this trip wonât happen until it's safe for the kids to go but we wanted to start celebrating this monumental partnership!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends." - Maya Angelou
