Hey {NAME}, Greetings from the Finger Lakes region of New York! Last week, I decided it was time to head back to Austin. Rather than continue traveling around New England, I cut my trip short, spent a final week with my parents, and started the journey home. While I'm nervous about going back to a COVID hotspot, after over two months away, I really want to be back in my bed, lounging on my couch with a book, cooking in my kitchen, and drinking all my loose leaf tea. Home beckons and my heart is telling me it's time. And you have to listen to your heart, right? After all, a couple of weeks ago, I talked about that exact point. I'm in the Finger Lakes for a few days, then off to NYC and then DC. After that, I'm going to spend time hiking in the Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains before my final long drive to Austin. (All in all, it will take me about two weeks.) My time in Maine reinspired me and I'm just ready to get home, write, and make the best of this new world we live in. Travel is still inspirational even in these weird times.
